About Me

Experience. Insight. Focus.

  • In 1984, I qualified as a Solicitor in England. After practising law for five years, I switched to executive consulting via business school and a stint at one of the UK’s leading advertising agencies. For the past thirty years, my work has centred on the legal services sector, helping lawyers, legal professionals, law firm executives and in-house counsel to refresh and refocus their organisations. During that time, I have worked with clients in a dozen countries across five continents.

Today, most of my work is focussed on conducting practice reviews, facilitating planning retreats, speaking at conferences and events and presenting workshops aimed at improving leadership and management skills. My mission is to bring ideas, insights and inspiration to legal professionals so that they can develop a flourishing business and enjoy a rewarding life. Lawyers and law firms play a significant role in society by providing access to justice and advancing the interests of the communities they serve. Consequently, it is in everyone’s interests that law firms thrive.

I invite enquiries from lawyers and law firms in all parts of the globe.

  • During my thirty-year career, I have had the opportunity to work with a range of clients from the legal services sector including:

     -       Private practice law firms

    -       Law firm networks

    -       Barristers’ chambers

    -       Law conference organisers

    -       In-house counsel

My clients are, mostly (but not exclusively) from the UK and Australasia. I have also worked with numerous professional bodies including:

    -       Law Society of England and Wales

    -       Law Society of Singapore

    -       Law Society of South Africa

    -       Law Society of South Australia

    -       Victorian Law Institute

    -       Queensland Law Society

    -       Auckland District Law Society

    -       Association of Legal Administrators (ALA)

    -       Australasian Legal Practice Management Association (ALPMA)

I have written numerous articles for various publications and have had three books published, ‘Why Lawyers Should Eat Bananas’, ‘Why Entrepreneurs Should Eat Bananas’ and ‘Legal Eagles’. My new book, ’The Heart of Practice’ will be released in February 2023.

I am a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, an accredited professional speaker with the Professional Speakers Association of Australia, and a member of the Law Consultancy Network.
